Coaching and Divorce
Coaching enables people to reflect on their current circumstances, explore possibilities and decide on the future they may not yet think is possible. Divorce is a time of intense change affecting a whole family and the inevitable emotional dificulties may significantly impede the critical decision-making process. A divorce coach supports the client in navigating this often stormy course, enabling them to become more effectiveand strategic when working within the collaborative law framework.
How does the coaching work?
Every client is entitled to a free introductory phone call with either Peter or Sylvia and if required can attend the initial meeting with the lawyer. The client is encouraged to consider whether or not he/she feels that coaching would be helpful. If they feel this would be beneficial they contact the coach at a later stage with their decision. Coaching then takes place either face-to-face or over the telephone. The confidential and positive relationship developed between coach and client is a powerful force. Many clients find that even one session helps clarfiy their goals and the necessary steps that they need to make in creating their future.
Coaching does not involve therapy or counselling. However, if it is felt that the client would benefit from a therapist's input they may then be recommended an appropriate service.
